Lewisham is one of the more easy-going, neighbourly suburbs in the Inner West. While it may not have the same hospitality heat of nearby Newtown or Marrickville, it does have Cafe Lewi.
Opened in late 2025, Cafe Lewi is owned by two former Rockpool chefs (among other notable venues).
Local Guides are brought to you by your friendly concierge, Worktones. We’ve got the plug on the best restaurants, cafes, bars and other gems in the neighbourhood by those who know a thing or two about serving up good times in the area.
The cafe fits right into the leafy, modest street by the train station in an old corner store, but inside brings a new, exciting flavour to Lewisham. Classic French omelettes, the most gorgeous sweets display, including a layered ‘Mr Pistachio’ cake that’s making the rounds on social media, and a Caesar Salad that is really as good as it gets.
Since they’re spending more time than ever in the Inner West, we asked what other nearby venues they’re drawn to again and again.
