Worktones has added a chef jacket, shirt and pants to our ready-to-wear range of hospitality workwear.
This was a slow build. We didn't want to release chefwear for the sake of it, or repeat what was already out there, so we didn't rush the process. Tested on real, opinionated chefs, the chef jacket alone went through 11 design iterations before we landed on something that looked like us and reflected how we think.
The range follows the same belief that's shaped everything else we've made: how you do uniforms is how you do everything.
Your team should look and feel good in what they wear, and that should hold as true in the kitchen as it does out front. That matters particularly for open kitchens where chefs are in view of diners and the two ends of a venue need to belong to the same story.
Over the years, chefwear has swung from formal whites to t-shirts and aprons and is swinging back again. This range sits in between: it nods to the tradition, but is built around comfort, natural fabrics and our design sensibility.
Every detail has a job. Larger armholes for reaching. Buttoned cuffs for rolling up. Side-splits for movement. This is chefwear that's designed with the same care as everything else in the room.

The Hercules is a unisex double-breasted chef jacket made from cotton mini herringbone that adds a subtle texture. The boxy fit suits all shapes and sizes, with side splits and large armholes to allow for movement. The double-breasted centre front adds structure, with a pen pocket at the wearer's left shoulder. The long sleeves are finished with buttoned cuffs for rolling.
The colour options are slightly left-of-field. The ecru adds warmth to the traditional chef whites, while the blue offers personality for those who’d rather stand out. Both marry back to the Benny Baggy Pant.
The Honey is a unisex cotton poplin chef shirt with a mandarin collar. The off-centre closure does up with concealed press studs along the front placket, with one exposed press stud at the top. The boxy fit with subtle darting falls comfortably on a range of body types, with side splits for extra give during service. The short sleeves feature a pen pocket at the wearer’s left shoulder, and an apron clip at the centre-back nape reduces pressure when worn with an apron. Available in off-white and navy, two classic colours easily matched with other Worktones pieces.
This unisex chef pants have a barrel leg that flares at the knee and tapers at the ankle, finishing just above the shoe, creating an oversized yet tailored silhouette. Made from breathable cotton mini herringbone with an elasticated waist and a drawstring with silicone ends that won't heat up during service. It features four large but discreet pockets at the sides and back and a flat-felled seam along the centre line of the legs. Although designed for the kitchen, the Benny Baggy Pant works just as well outside it. Available in black and the same ecru and blue as the Hercules Chef Jacket for a matching set.
