Little Rose, Fitzroy: Tried & Tested Uniforms For Rosheen Kaul's Acclaimed Pop-Up

PROJECT MISE EN PLACE

Renowned cookbook author, chef and columnist Rosheen Kaul has teamed up with mixologist Joe Jones to bring Little Rose to Fitzroy -  a French-Asian pop-up that blends classic European techniques with South East Asian flavours and monthly cocktail specials.

This is not Rosheen’s first pop-up rodeo; her former pop-up Bistro Marigold set the foundation for Little Rose, which is an even more playful approach to French cuisine. The result speaks for itself, making the pop-up one of the hottest reservations you could get.

Rosheen has long been a friend and creative partner of Worktones, so she's very familiar with our range. When we heard about this concept, we knew the use of natural fabrics and a clean colour palette would suit the intimate bistro setting.

PROCESS NOTES

Time is precious when putting together a pop-up. Everything, from menus to staff and suppliers, requires a certain confidence, the type of preparedness that comes well into a restaurant’s life. There’s very little time to change or refine.

Using tried-and-tested options makes all the difference, and Rosheen’s experience with the Worktones range meant that finding a uniform solution was simple. We pointed her to our ready-to-wear range for back-of-house aprons and front-of-house jackets.

ORDER UP

The kitchen and bar wear the Birdy apron in off-white, matching to the Unstructured Blazer worn by front-of-house. The pop-up had an immediate impact when it opened its doors in May, earning glowing

reviews from critics and locals alike and a surge of demand that led to Rosheen and Joe extending their opening beyond the original two-month plan.

It is no surprise to us that Little Rose so quickly gained a following. Rosheen and Joe are brilliant at what they do, and we're happy to be along for the ride, supporting another project in our own small but important way. The uniforms look great in the space.
